In 2026, AXIWI once again provides the communication sets for blind and visually impaired participants during the Mentelity Games in Saas-Grund, Switzerland. Thanks to this valuable partnership, participants can once again safely and confidently descend the mountain this year.
For the fourth year in a row, we use the AXIWI sets during our winter sports week. Every participant with a visual impairment is assigned a dedicated, individual guide. Through the AXIWI communication systems, they stay in constant contact with each other. With clear instructions and direct feedback, participants, together with our volunteers, can safely enjoy their descent.
Volunteer Pieter has extensive experience on the slopes:
“As a ski instructor and guide for winter sports participants with visual impairments, I have been working with AXIWI for years. The one-on-one contact is fast and clear. You can respond immediately, which greatly increases safety. The sound quality is excellent, the range is reliable, and the sets are compact and user-friendly.”
Participant Annemiek is also enthusiastic:
“I am severely visually impaired and use AXIWI during winter sports and horseback riding. On the slopes, it is essential that I hear and follow instructions well. Thanks to the system, I feel more confident and safer. Without a communication system, it could happen that you did not hear instructions properly, which can lead to unsafe situations. With AXIWI, the instructions are clear, there is little wind noise, and the battery lasts a long time.”
Michel Engelen, director of Axitour, emphasizes the importance of the partnership:
